Florida Matters Wants To Hear From You About Seafood

Did you know Tampa Bay was once filled with oysters you could actually eat? Or that people used to turn their noses up at grouper?

Florida Matters is producing an upcoming show about seafood in our state. We talk about the history of what kinds of seafood Floridians have eaten over the years and learn about the current state of the industry and efforts to make it more sustainable.

We want to hear your thoughts on the matter and may read your comments during the show.

How have you seen the industry change over the years? Are there fish you used to frequently see in Florida waters or on restaurant menus that are harder to find these days? Or have you noticed newly popular seafood dishes?

You can share your feedback with us on our Facebook page, tweet @FloridaMatters or email FloridaMatters@wusf.org.

I’m the editor for Your Florida, a project focused on connecting people with state government and policies passed in Tallahassee that affect their lives. I’m passionate about highlighting community efforts to improve the quality of life in our state and am committed to holding those in power accountable when they fail to prioritize the needs of people they serve.
