The University of South Florida conducted a straw poll on its Tampa campus to measure students' political opinions ahead of the November 4th midterm election.

92 percent of the 1,096 votes came from students and if the midterm elections were held now, 49 percent of the votes would go towards gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist.

A majority of students preferred George Sheldon for Attorney General.

When it came to amendments, the majority were in favor of amendments 1 and 2, but weren't sure of amendment 3 or didn't know about it.

Sophomore and mass communications major, Marcela Vasquez was one of those students.

"I didn't know about the third one. The second one, for medical marijuana- I'm epileptic so I think medical marijuana is really good for people like me, I thankfully don't have it severe but some people really do need it."

Vasquez said she would support amendment 1.

Support for Medical marijuana received 70 percent of the votes. More than half of the students did not know about amendment 3 or had no opinion.
