Hillsborough County Sheriff's Divers Find Apryl Foster's Car

Tampa Police Department

UPDATED POST 2/23 2:30 P.M.:
Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials announced that the body discovered in the lake Sunday has been positively identified as Apryl Foster.

They said she was identified through fingerprints.

No other new information is known at this time.

ORIGINAL POST 2/22 7 P.M.:
Late Sunday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office divers recovered the car of Apryl Foster.

Tampa Police said a neighbor spotted the car while boating on a lake not far from Foster's house. And spokesman Brian Dugan called the discovery a "tragic end to a very sad story."

The body of one person was found inside the car, and the clothing matches the description of what Foster was wearing the last time she was seen in Ybor City, after singing karaoke.

The medical examiner will work to identify the person who was found in the car.

The 33-year-old Brandon woman had been missing since February 12th, and her mother made tearful pleas for the public to keep an eye out for her red car. The family she always kept in touch and would never have left her cats without someone to care for them.

Organizations within the community contributed to the search for Foster.  Clear Channel donated billboards, and Foster's employer, Ulele Restaurant, and others donated reward money adding up to tens of thousands of dollars to find her.

Richard Gonzmart, the owner of Ulele, posted a message in Foster's honor on his Facebook page Sunday night:
