There will be tons to do this weekend all around the Tampa Bay area to celebrate the Fourth of July.
St. Petersburg
- A Fourth of July Children’s Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4. It begins at the Coffee Pot Park located at 1800 Coffee Pot Blvd NE in the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood of St. Petersburg.
- The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg will have their ninth annual Fourth of July fireworks buffet. Guests can dine in the conservatory at the museum while enjoying art, music and a spread of meats like hickory smoked chicken, barbecue grilled salmon, pulled pork and brisket, hot dogs, beer, wine and more. Seats are available from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The museum is located at 255 Beach Drive NE in St Petersburg. For tickets and more information, call (727) 822-1032.
- A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. at St. Pete’s Spa Beach Park at 615 2nd Ave. NE. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.
Clearwater
- One of the largest fireworks show in the Tampa Bay area will take place at Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater. The free family celebration will feature music, food, drinks, local vendors and family-friendly activities. There will be live music by Nashville recording artist, Aubrey Wollett; Clearwater’s own, The Ries Brothers; and a performance by the Coachman Park Pops Orchestra featuring The Wilsons. Gates open at 4 p.m. and music will begin at 7:30 pm. Fireworks will start between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
- Minor League Baseball team, The Clearwater Threshers will host the Brevard County Manatees for a three-day series. It will begin Friday, July 1 with a t-shirt giveaway to the first 1,000 fans at the game. Afterwards, there will be a concert by The Greg Billings Band. On Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 the Threshers will host their “Best in the Bay Fireworks Shows.” All three games are set to begin at 6:15 p.m.
Tarpon Springs
A picnic at Craig Park is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, July 4 in Tarpon Springs. Families can enjoy a waterslides, paddle boarding, inflatables, lawn games and free hot dogs. There will also be a hotdog eating contest at noon for those 16 and older. Live entertainment will be provided by Rusty Trumpet and admission is free. The park is located at 100 Beekman Way.
Gulfport
Gulfport invites area residents to celebrate Independence Day all day long on Monday, July 4, with children’s activities, food, vendors, arts and crafts and live entertainment. It all begins at Gulfport’s Downtown Waterfront District at 2 p.m. Fireworks will start at 9:15 p.m. on the Gulfport Beach near the Gulfport Casino.
Largo
Largo Central Park will have family-friendly fun for the Fourth of July starting at 6 p.m. There will be food, live entertainment, activities for all ages and a fireworks show starting at 9:15 p.m. Some of the activities include a pie-eating contest, a watermelon seed spitting contest and t-shirt decorating. Admission is free. Activity wristbands will be available for purchase on-site and can be paid only with cash. No alcohol, coolers, pets, personal fireworks or sparklers are permitted in the park. The park is located at 101 Central Park Drive in Largo.
Safety Harbor
A parade hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary down Safety Harbor’s Main Street will kick off events on the Fourth of July from 10 a.m. to noon. Later in the evening, a July 4th Celebration “Safety Harbor” style, will include children’s activities, food vendors and live entertainment starting at 5 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Mercy McCoy Band and Stimulus. Guests can then grab a seat in the marina or the Waterfront Park adjoining the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa to watch fireworks at 9 p.m. To enter a float in the parade, call (727) 726-9601.
Dunedin
A free baseball game starts the three-day weekend in Dunedin. The Dunedin Blue Jays take on the Tampa Yankees in a three-game series from Friday, July 1 to Sunday, July 3. The games begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6:15 p.m. on Sunday. Gates open on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Auto Exchange Stadium at 371 Douglas Ave. Fireworks will start after the game has ended on Sunday.
Tampa
Whiskey Joe’s Bar & Grill in Tampa will celebrate the Fourth of July with beach fun, a fireworks show and a live performance by local country singer and USF student, Skyler Clark. Clark will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4. The restaurant will offer a special Independence Day beach menu and has a fireworks show scheduled for sunset. They’re located at 7720 W. Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa.
Downtown Tampa will celebrate our nations Independence Day with live music, entertainment, family friendly activities, and festive waterfront fireworks display. The waterfront at Channelside opens at 6 P.M. and fireworks start at 9 P.M.
