Make It Count: Turn In Your Absentee Ballot By 7 Tonight

Susan Giles Wantuck/WUSF News
University of South Florida area voting precinct.

Today is Election Day. Say you’re one of the more than 700,000 Florida voters holding a vote-by-mail ballot that needs to be turned in.

The deadline is still 7 p.m. tonight for you to turn in that ballot and have your vote be counted. So what are your options?

First of all, you can’t turn it in at your precinct. You have to use one of the offices for your supervisor of elections to do that. You may also have someone else drop off your ballot.

Or you can go to your designated voting precinct, surrender your ballot to a poll worker and vote in person. Hillsborough County has four offices available for you to drop off your absentee ballot. Pinellas has three drop off locations. And by clicking on the name of your county, you can find the drop-off sites for Pasco, Polk, Hernando, Manatee and Sarasota.

I love telling stories about my home state. And I hope they will help you in some way and maybe even lift your spirits.
