Dr. Michael Reilly was released by the Tampa Bay Rays after allegations of sexual abuse. He also has an office at 1201 5th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.

A former Tampa Bay Rays physician will not face criminal charges after being fired when a woman accused him of sexual abuse in January.

The St. Petersburg Police Department started its investigation of Michael Reilly after a former employee made the accusations in a 10-minute-long YouTube video. The video detailed allegations of abuse that the woman claimed happened when she was a teenager working at Reilly’s St. Petersburg practice nearly 10 years ago.

In a report released on Monday, St. Petersburg police said detectives were unable to establish probable cause in order to make an arrest. The report also said that the statute of limitations for the allegations had expired.

The Tampa Bay Rays fired Reilly on January 30 after learning of the accusation.
