A toddler died in Tampa on Monday night after police say she was left in a family vehicle.

Police say the parents of the 1 ½-year-old girl called 911 after finding her unconscious and not breathing in the family’s Jeep.

Tampa Fire Rescue responded around 6:30 p.m. to the 9400 block of N. 19th Street and the child was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police say.

Police say an early investigation indicates the child was accidentally left in the family’s Jeep that morning.
