A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured on Halloween night when he was struck by a pickup truck while trick or treating in Pasco County.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Starkey Boulevard and Town Avenue in Trinity.

The boy was in a marked crosswalk when the 61-year-old driver in a Ford F-150 failed to yield, according to troopers.

The boy was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, troopers say.

Charges are pending, troopers say.
