Garnet Brown Gordon-Somers
Garnet Brown Gordon-Somers is a WUSF/USF Zimmerman School digital news intern for spring 2019.
A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Garnet is currently a second year student working towards his degree in mass communication with a concentration in broadcast news. His involvement in theater from a young age sparked his love for storytelling, acting as a catalyst for his journalistic adventure.
Garnet has previous experience as the founder of his high school’s first online newspaper.
He has also previously interned with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission, based in his hometown.
