Jenn Brookland
Jennifer grew up in Baltimore and studied International Politics and African Studies at Georgetown University. She commissioned into the U.S. Air Force and spent four years as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations in North Carolina and Maryland, with a deployment to Djibouti and the Comoros Islands. In that role, she led felony-level criminal investigations and supported fraud and counterintelligence efforts.
After separating from the Air Force, Jennifer earned a Master's Degree in journalism from Columbia University and a Master's Degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Jennifer spent three years producing content for international development organizations in D.C, highlighting aid work in countries including Tajikistan, Haiti, Honduras, India and Tanzania. She moved to Durham, N.C. in 2015 and began freelance writing, editing and producing for clients including the World Bank, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, North Carolina Public Radio and Our State magazine.
