Ryan Benk is originally from Miami and came to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, where he's pursuing a creative writing degree. In 2013, he won the Best Student Reporting award from the FSU chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists. He also has worked on Miami-Dade College’s arts and literature magazine, Miambiance, and has published poetry and produced a short film called "The Writer." When he’s not tracking down news, Ryan likes watching films, writing fiction and poetry, and exploring Florida.
