Republican Anna Paulina Luna on Tuesday was elected to Pinellas County's 13th congressional district, a newly redrawn district previously held by Charlie Crist, who lost his bid to defeat Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Luna topped Democrat Eric Lynn, winning 53% of the vote to 45%.
The redrawing of the district made it more favorable for Republicans. Luna lost the seat to Crist in 2020, when the district favored Democrats.
Luna had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Lynn had worked in former President Barack Obama's administration as a national security adviser.
