Mitt Romney has taken the lead in Florida and Ohio according to a new poll of swing states from Purple Strategies. A Sayfie Review exclusive shows Romney with 49 percent vs. Obama with 45 percent among Florida voters.
But, President Barack Obama still leads overall by 2 percent in the Purple Poll. That's down from the April Purple Strategies survey.
The poll conducted between May 31 and June 6 used automated interviews with voters in Florida, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
In addition to the candidate numbers, the Purple Strategies Poll had other results:
- Romney's "favorability" remains stagnant in swing states: 39 percent favorable, 49 percent unfavorable
- Private Investment firms: 47 percent believe cut jobs and 38 percent believe they create jobs
- Obama's Job rating: 47 percent approve, 49 percent disapprove
- Election Views: 32 percent look forward to five months of campaigns, 61 percent would wait till Labor Day
The Purple Poll focuses on the 12 states most likely to determine the outcome of the 2012 presidential election.
