Isaac Takes Aim at Tampa

Check out the five-day forecast for Tropical Storm Isaac.

It could veer harmlessly into the Atlantic, or march through the middle of the Gulf...but most computer models have the storm hitting Tampa, possibly as a Category One hurricane.

We've been through this before, when Tampa was the bulls-eye for Hurricane Charlie...until the storm made a last-minute turn (sorry, Port Charlotte.)

Republican National Convention organizers and Tampa-area officials say they have a plan. Florida Emergency Management Director Bryan Koon said there was no reason for visitors to cancel their trips.

But in 2008, RNC organizers toned down the first day of the St. Paul convention because of two hurricanes more than a thousand miles away.

Will Republican National Convention organizers want to be seen partying and politicking as a hurricane or tropical storm rages nearby?
