A Democratic candidate for Florida's attorney general is filing a lawsuit that contends that Gov. Rick Scott isn't following the law that requires him to disclose his finances.
George Sheldon announced Wednesday morning that he's asking the court to force Scott to fully disclose all his assets and investments.
Sheldon is challenging incumbent Pam Bondi in November.
The lawsuit comes a few days after the Miami Herald reported that Scott is listed in federal records as controlling trust accounts that aren't listed in financial disclosure documents he is required to file each year with the state.
Scott's re-election campaign has already maintained that it is in "full compliance" with both state and federal requirements.
Scott has used a "blind trust" for his assets since becoming governor.
