The Jeb Bush for President campaign opened its state headquarters Thursday in Tampa. Jeb wasn't there, but the star attraction was his son, Jeb Bush Jr.

"(There's) been a lot of energy," Bush Jr. said. "Whether it's been Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina, it's been great."

Bush Jr. opened the headquarters at an engineering office near Tampa International Airport. He was joined by two prominent Florida Republicans: Attorney General Pam Bondi and former House speaker Will Weatherford.

Bush Jr. said there's a reason his father decided to open his state headquarters in Tampa, instead of Miami, home of the national office. The Interstate-4 corridor is the most important area for voters in Florida, considered the biggest swing area of the biggest swing state.

"It's absolutely critical," Bush Jr. said. "And it's important to know that dad left office with a 67 percent approval rating. So it's been good. We're opening the Miami office and just opened the Tampa office, so we'll start making calls from around the country from here and it'll be great."
