Candidates wanting to run for political office in Florida had until noon today to qualify. Races ranging from U.S. Senate to local school district seats are up for a vote, starting with party primaries on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Winners in those races, or those who didn't face party opponents will face off in the Nov. 8 general election.
