Elections Offices Extend Hours For Mail-In Ballot Affidavits

Several Tampa Bay area elections offices are extending their hours to help voters with contested mail-in ballots.

A judged ruled that vote-by-mail affidavits can be filed until 5 p.m. Saturday for people who failed to sign their ballots, or if their signature did not match the one on file.

This issue stems from a legal challenge filed in the race for U.S. Senate between incumbent Bill Nelson and Republican Rick Scott. That race is undergoing a manual recount right now across the state.

Offices will be open until 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday in Hillsborough, Sarasota, Polk and Pasco Counties.

Voters must provide specific documentation, according to the Florida Division of Elections.

The following elections offices are open Friday and Saturday to help voters submit a vote-by-mail cure affidavit. See individual websites for more detail.

  • Hillsborough: All four locations open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • 2514 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619
    • 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 16th Floor, Tampa, FL 33602
    • 4575 Gunn Hwy., Tampa, FL 33624
    • 10020 S. US Highway 301, Riverview, FL 33578

  • Polk: Locations in Bartow and Winter Haven will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday

  • Pasco: Locations in Dade City, New Port Richey, Land O' Lakes will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

  • Sarasota: Downtown location, 101 S Washington Blvd., open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Pinellas: Offices open across the county on Friday and Saturday until 5 p.m.
