President-elect Donald Trump's 45% share of Latino voters set a record for a Republican presidential candidate — but the bigger surprise was his strong performance with Puerto Ricans, even after the "garbage" insult.

Republicans maintained supermajorities in both legislative chambers. Democrats failed to topple Republicans’ supermajority in the Florida House, an effort that would have required picking up a net of five seats.

Becoming just the second president to be defeated and then reelected to a subsequent term, former President Donald Trump defeated Vice President Harris and will be the 47th president.

State Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, who first won the seat in 2022, is a former chair of the Republican Party of Florida. Meantime, U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis earned another term in the U.S. House.

It included victories by several Republican incumbents in the Tampa Bay area.
