Florida has expanded its COVID-19 vaccine eligibility and distribution, but there’s uncertainty if all the vaccines will be used.

In there greater Tampa Bay region, there were 510 cases reported and nine deaths.

A total of 8,943 new cases were reported in Florida over the weekend, as were 116 new deaths related to COVID-19.

The positivity rate for new cases has been below 6% for all but two days in the past two weeks.

The 66 deaths in the state's Sunday report was the lowest since Nov. 28, 2020. There were 4,098 new positive cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 5.84%

The positivity rate of 4.91% was the lowest total since October. The state also reported 4,690 people tested positive, along with 107 deaths.

The state budget, health care, education and a controversial proposal to change Florida's vote-by-mail process are among the issues facing lawmakers in the session starting March 2.

The positivity rate for new cases was at its lowest level since the end of January.

Another 6,624 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Florida since Saturday’s daily report from the state Department of Health.

Of the 141,056 coronavirus tests recorded Saturday, 8.66% were positive.

The state reported 9,535 new coronavirus cases in its Sunday report, along with 132 deaths.

In its Saturday report, the Florida Department of Health reported 12,311 daily coronavirus cases, but with a steep drop in positivity rate.
