The number of new positive daily coronavirus cases in Florida dropped by 10 on Thursday, while the 78 deaths recorded since a day earlier was the most in the last seven days.

The Florida Department of Health said 6,772 people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, along with 45 deaths statewide.

In its Sunday report, the Florida Department of Health reported seven people died due to a primary diagnosis of COVID-19. There were 5,520 new cases, with a positivity rate of 7.65%.

The 66 deaths in the state's Sunday report was the lowest since Nov. 28, 2020. There were 4,098 new positive cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 5.84%

The positivity rate of 4.91% was the lowest total since October. The state also reported 4,690 people tested positive, along with 107 deaths.

Thursday's report from the Department of Health shows over 9,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus statewide.

The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus statewide increased Tuesday - tied to a sharp increase in the number of tests received by the state the day before.
