There will be soon a fun and affordable way to breeze around the bay. Coast Bike Share is a program that will give riders a 24/7 transportation option to commute, visit friends or just have fun.
"Users can reserve a bike by walking up to one of the 30 bike hubs, going to the website or downloading the smart phone app Social Bicycles," said Coast Bike Share program director Erick Trull.
"In downtown Tampa there are a lot of commuters," Trull said. "So, those people who drive into the city now have an ability to go a little further outside of their normal areas for lunch or take a bike for meetings."
He said this program is great for the 5,000 people who live in the downtown corridor and the millions of visitors the city gets every year.
Coast Bike Share counts with 30 hubs that will be located throughout downtown, Hyde Park, Ybor City, Davis Islands and Channelside.
The program it set to launch in August with 300 bikes.
Prices will range from $5 a day to an $80 yearly subscription.
