WUSF is looking for student interns for the summer and fall 2019 semesters.

WUSF News is looking for student journalists ready for the opportunity to work in a professional newsroom. We're taking applications for a number of internships for the Summer and Fall 2019 semesters, including the Stephen Noble Internship - a semester-long chance to develop into a public radio reporter - and a new visual news internship.

(Update 4/9 10 a.m. -- Deadlines on applications have been extended)

Interns will work closely with our team of seasoned reporters learning how to research, write and produce stories for radio and online platforms. It’s place where students are treated like a real journalist from the start, assigned stories that matter to millions of Tampa Bay area residents.

It’s where you'll discover how public media tries to serve its audience differently from commercial news organizations.

The internships WUSF is looking to fill are:

The Stephen Noble/WUSF News Internship – A multi-day paid internship where a student will learn how to research, write, produce and report for WUSF Radio and WUSFNews.org. In addition to daily news assignments, the Noble intern will produce a pair of University Beat reports. Students from ANY university are welcome to apply for this job.

During the summer semester, this is a five-day a week (40 hours) position. During the fall semester, it’s a two-day a week (15 hours) position.

The deadline to apply is April 16.

To apply for either internship, please go to USF's employment website at: https://www.usf.edu/work-at-usf/careers/index.aspx. Once there, please click on the "Access Careers@USF" link.

The summer position is listed as "Stephen Noble News Intern" (job 20465), while the fall position is listed as "WUSF News Internship" (job 20466). If you are interested in both positions, you must apply for the jobs separately.

WUSF Radio News Internship - Similar to the Noble Internship, the WUSF Radio News intern will learn how to research, write, produce and report for WUSF 89.7 News and WUSFNews.org. In addition to daily news assignments, the intern will produce a pair of University Beat reports. Students from ANY university are welcome to apply for this job.

This internship is open ONLY for the fall semester. The deadline to apply is April 16. Please apply here: https://forms.gle/o7BwBk7ZNBncue3p7

WUSF/USF Zimmerman School Digital News Intern - Three to five students from the USF Zimmerman School will be chosen for this position. Designed as a more entry-level internship, digital news interns work with a graduate assistant and the WUSF news team reporting, writing and producing stories for online platforms and sometimes for radio broadcast. Students MUST be enrolled in the USF Zimmerman School in Tampa.

This internship is open in both the summer and fall semesters. The deadline to apply is April 16. Please apply here: https://forms.gle/sddEssE6A2rVt46d7

WUSF Visual News Internship – One student will be chosen for this position. The visual news intern will work with the WUSF news team to learn how to produce visual content (photos and videos) for the station’s website and social media platforms. Students from ANY university are welcome to apply for this job.

This internship is open ONLY for the fall semester. The deadline to apply is April 16. Please apply here: https://forms.gle/FPGjVKdr9spobr5p7
