More than 3,200 degrees will be conferred during weekend commencement ceremonies at the USF Yuengling Center, pictured, and the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.

Steven Currall will oversee his first commencement exercises as the President of the University of South Florida this weekend.

More than 3,200 degrees will be conferred during three ceremonies in Tampa and St. Petersburg.

According to USF, the graduates represent 48 states and 79 nations.

The oldest degree recipient is 64 years old, while the youngest, 19-year-old Queen Lucombe, started taking college-level courses at 12 and graduated from high school at 15. She's receiving a bachelor's in psychology.

Rich Young, who is getting a doctorate in education Saturday, will leaving for a six month deployment in Afghanistan three days after graduation. Young, who spent more than 20 years as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, will serve as the Minister of Interior Liaison Officer to the Special Operations Joint Task Force. That's a civilian role he kept while completing his degree.

Andrea Prospect, who's earning a bachelor's degree from the USF College of Public Health, was named the outstanding graduate. She's graduating a year early with a 4.0 grade point average.

Currall, who officially became USF System President July 1, has a ways to go before he catches up with his predecesor, Judy Genshaft.

The former president shook the hands of about 210,000 graduates during her 18 years leading USF. That's almost 60 percent of the total graduates in the school's more than 60 year history.
